Groupon in the news, again! This time, again, it’s about money. They want to raise about $950 million in a Series G round of financing. This sounds like Dr. Evil in the Austin Powers movies.
The big question on everyone’s lips is why is Groupon raising so much money? This is nearly $1 billion dollars that they’re aiming to raise.
I struggle with an answer. Right now, the most obvious one is to build their localized sales and technology infrastructure. » Read more: What the heck will Groupon do with $950 million?

For most businesses leveraging online marketing tools as part of their marketing mix is becoming a priority as there is high potential for a revenue upside from online sources. Here’s the thing, however; It works only if you have good marketing and technical expertise to guide you through the maze that is the Internet.
Very few digital agencies have that expertise. They will sell you a good game – agencies are great at pitching – and drop the right buzzwords but when it comes to brass tacks (i.e. execution), they fall flat.
Well, in line with my goal to provide valuable information on this forum, I’ve compiled a list of questions that you should ask any digital agency while considering them. » Read more: Hard Questions to ask before hiring a Digital Agency

It’s been 9 months since the release of the iPad and the device has increased in popularity at an unprecedented rate. I was confused about the usefulness of the device and wondered how the iPad was so different from the iPod Touch or iPhone?
Even today, I ask: For an individual user, what does the iPad do so differently that justifies its high price point? It’s hard to even visualize a scenario where the iPad would be a complete substitute for either a laptop or a netbook or a smart phone.
Based on some research and Prof. Sawhney’s analysis, here’s what I’ve concluded. » Read more: Why the iPad is here to stay

It goes on and on.
There is a paradox however, to this technological advancement that saddens me. » Read more: How Technology has affected Quality & Fidelity in our lives

I came across “Megatrends” by John Naisbitt a year ago in a used bookstore and bought it. It lay on my bookshelf for a while collecting dust until I decided recently to give it a read.
I had the 1982 edition so I was naturally curious as to how some of the predictions in the book panned out presently, and even more interested in the thinking behind the creation of the accurate forecasts.
Here are my findings : » Read more: 6 Naisbitt Megatrends that held up in 2011
