To get answers on whether either of the major search engines were using social signals to rank regular search results, he sent Bing and Google six questions about how they use social data from Twitter and Facebook with a special emphasis on trying to understand if and how that data influenced regular web search results.

SEO Tasks in orderAccording to  research from eMarketer conducted in May 2010, where they analyzed the SEO techniques used by search marketers, the majority of search marketers indicated that they used Google Webmaster to identify SEO issues that they could work on to optimize their sites.
Additionally, the eMarketer study highlighted the other tasks that marketers used as part of their daily SEO actions.
